Helen C. Sacewicz

Helen C. Sacewicz (nee: Pawlikowski), 91, of Union, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family.


Born and raised in Newark, Helen met her husband Stanley at the St Casimir’s Church Bowling Alley. They moved to Union in 1952.


Helen was a member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary at St Casimir’s Church in Newark in her younger years. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Union, the Catholic Daughters of St Michael’s, as well as a devoted parishioner of St Michael’s Church.


Always known as a happy person, Helen loved ceramics and shared her talents through teaching ceramics classes in her home. She was also great at crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking, and enjoyed playing Bingo. Helen was known for organizing trips to the Catskills, planning and hosting parties. Simply put, she was a pleasure to be around.


Predeceased by her husband Stanley F., brothers Thomas, Henry and Edward Pawlikowski; and daughter in law Barbara Sacewicz. Helen is survived by her son Robert, and his daughters Lila and Devon; niece Carol Polakowski, nephew Walter Polakowski and his wife Yolanda, nephew Joseph Sacewicz and his wife Nancy, nephew Ronald and Dorita Pawlikowski and niece Deborah Pawlikowski. Helen is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
