Helga Mulcahey

Helga Mulcahey, (nee Trulsen), 87 of Bedminster, NJ, passed peacefully on August 6, 2021. Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, she moved to England to work as a nanny, she came to the United States in 1956, where she lived in Astoria, Long Island, NY. Helga married the love of her life, Thomas in 1959 and they lived in Astoria, NY, and Nanuet, NY before moving to Bedminster many years ago. They were married for 62 years. Helga received her bachelor’s degree in Germany. She was an accountant for Atlantic Insurance for 46 years. During those 46 years, she worked on Wall Street, Berkeley Heights, NJ and Madison, NJ before retiring, 22 years ago. Helga would crochet baby blankets for the local nursing homes in Bedminster. Helga and her husband Thomas would cook for the homeless thru the Senior Housing Programs for many years, she also loved to travel, mostly cruises, several to Hawaii and Marco Island, among other destinations.  Helga was a member of the Crestmont Highland Homeowners Association in Bedminster, NJ. She loved to volunteer and take care of others. Helga is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Thomas Mulcahey. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd. Whippany, NJ.
