Herbert Schneck

Herbert Schneck passed away at home on August 1, 2012. He was 86.


Born in Perth Amboy, Mr. Schenck grew up in South Orange and Maplewood, moving to Chatham in 1952. He moved to West Wareham, MA in 2011 to live with his son, Peter, and his wife, Joyce, and enjoyed being closer to his family.


Mr. Schneck enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a naval aviation cadet and was in training until his honorable discharge in 1945.


A registered pharmacist, Mr. Scheck graduated from Rutgers College of Pharmacy. He was a sales representative for Lederle Laboratories (American Cyanamid) for many years and a hospital pharmacist before retiring in 1988.


Mr. Schneck served as a volunteer special police officer in Chatham for over 20 years. He was also affiliated with the Cub Scouts program in Chatham, serving as a Cubmaster for several years.


He was the beloved husband of the late Jean R. Schneck. Loving father to Peter Schneck and his wife Joyce of W. Wareham, MA and the late Richard Schneck of Chatham. Survivors also include 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Walter H. Schneck of Henderson, NV.
