~~Mrs. Hilles H. Martin, 78, of Chatham Township passed away at King James Care Center on March 20th. A Memorial Service will be held at Stanley Congregation Church, 94 Fairmount Ave, Chatham, on Saturday, March 29th at 3:00pm.
Born in New York City and raised in Tuxedo, NY, Hilles had also lived in Southampton, NY, Irvington on Hudson, NY, and Haddonfield, NJ before moving to Chatham 8 years ago. She graduated from the Madeira School in McLean, VA. Hilles was a passionate animal lover and contributed to numerous rescue organizations. She was an avid reader and history buff. Hilles will be fondly remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren.
Hilles was the loving mother of Tracy Martin and his wife Gail, Elizabeth M. Olson and her companion Ralph B. Thomas, and Terrence M. Martin and his wife Rebecca Stokes. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Alexa, Christopher, Maxwell, Natasha, and Peter and her dear brother Stuyve Hamersley and his wife Carol. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hilles’ memory may be made to “Cause for Paws”
