Ida Giovannina Spallone, 85, of Mendham and formerly of Millburn and Springfield, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
Ida was born on November 7, 1935 in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Giovanni and Angela (nee Ianiro) Di Iura.
Ida emigrated to the USA in 1970. In her spare time, she loved gardening, her pets and cooking. Ida like playing the lottery and enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, knitting and making dresses and clothes.
Ida is survived by her husband of 54 years, Pasquale Spallone and loving mother of Rosanna Savino and son-in-law Joseph. Cherished grandmother of Joey, John, Jake, Daniel and Angela Savino and was the beloved aunt of Antonio Vadurro, Fernando Vadurro and Giovanni Di Iura. She was predeceased by her siblings Carmelina Vadurro, Guiseppe Di Iura, Donato Di Iura, Antonio Di Iura, Luigi Di Iura and niece, Angelina SanGregorio.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Avenue, Short Hills, NJ 07078. An entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ida’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
