Isabelle M. Elfers

Isabelle M. Elfers of Whippany died peacefully on November 22, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Newark, New Jersey on November 28, 1922, she was the daughter of Charles and Evelyn Meyer. When she was young, her mother passed away, and her father later married Frida K. Meyer, a caring and well loved stepmother and grandmother.

Isabelle graduated from Irvington High School. She worked as a secretary early in life, and later worked in the Morris County Clerk’s Office for several years. Isabelle enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and dancing with her husband. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany for over 55 years, where she participated in the Bell Choir, and was involved in many church activities. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Hanover Township, where she relished many friends and the trips they went on.

Isabelle was a devoted and loving wife to Harry A. Elfers for 66 years. She was the loving mother to her sons,  John and his wife Laurie Suomala and Charles and his wife Dinah; and dear grandmother of Geoffrey Elfers, Travis Elfers and his wife Elizabeth Lovelady,  and Stephen Elfers.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 3pm-7pm, with a prayer service at 7pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd. in Whippany. There will be a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany. “I have many wonderful memories of my wife Belle. Isabelle was the best for the 66 plus years. Your husband, Harry.”

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, November 26, 2018 from 3pm-7pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd., in Whippany, New Jersey.
Funeral:
There will be a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
