Jacqueline Ann Agars-Petersen, “Jaye”, 80 of Whippany, NJ, passed away on May 30, 2023. Services are private.

Born and raised in Troy, NY, the daughter of John and Lucy (Petersen) Agars, Jaye graduated from Central Catholic High School.  She had also lived in Jersey City and Kearny before moving to Whippany in 1972.  Jaye spent her earlier years raising her family and in the late 1980’s attended Centenary College in Hackettstown where she studied Interior Design.  She worked for many years as a case manager with Consumer Credit Counseling of NJ and supported various veteran organizations.  Jaye loved music, dancing, animals, and flowers.

Jaye is the loving mother of Derek DeVito and his wife Kim and Nicole DeVito Drew and her husband Sean.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Katiana Drew, Natalia Drew, Christian Drew and Trinity DeVito, her former husband and caregiver, Victor DeVito, and her sisters, Elayne Helin and Linda Powers.  She is predeceased by her brother Jackie Agars and her sister Janice Goyette.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jaye’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 23 Vreeland Road, #105, Florham Park, NJ 07932, https://www.alz.org/nj.
