James F. Gilleece

James Francis Gilleece 82 of Union, NJ passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Jim was born and raised in Bronx, NY where he attended Cardinal Hayes High School in 1958.  Jim graduated with a BA degree in 1962 from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York.

In 1963 he married his high school sweetheart Barbara. Jim and Barbara lived in Larchmont, NY for sixteen years before moving to Union, NJ in 1980.

Jim worked at Insurance Company of North America after graduating college.  Then he went to Alexander & Alexander (now Aon).  He was a corporate insurance broker dealing with Lloyd’s of London. He extensively traveled between North America and Europe for thirty years.

Jim is predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary Gilleece, brother Reverend Michael Gilleece, Monsignor Thomas Gilleece, sisters Patricia Myron, and Winifred Jaegar and daughter Lorraine Ann Gilleece. Nephews John, Robert and Matthew Myron.

Jim is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years Barbara, his children and their spouses Donna and Michael Smith, James and Danielle Gilleece, Gregory and Amy Gilleece, and his ten grandchildren Kyle and Brenden Smith, James, Patrick, Christopher and Alex Gilleece, and Conor, Abby, Finn, and Maeve Gilleece.  Jim is also survived by his brother Kevin and Anne Gilleece and his sister Eileen and Paul Prisinzano. He is also survived many nieces and nephews.
