James J. Garibaldi “Jim” passed away on November 22, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 85 Washington Ave. in Chatham on Tuesday, November 28th at 11:00am. Interment is private. Visiting hours at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Chatham will be on Monday, November 27th from 4 to 8:00pm.
Born in West Orange, NJ, the son of Joseph and Clare (Markey) Garibaldi, Jim was raised in Short Hills and graduated from Xavier High School in Manhattan. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Scranton University. Following college, Jim joined the family business, The Garibaldi Group, rising to the position of CEO. He was a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NJ, The Cancer Hope Network, and the Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown. Jim served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Pat’s for many years and was a member and on the Board of Trustees at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit. He was also a member of the Mid Ocean Club in Hamilton, Bermuda. An avid Yankee’s fan, Jim enjoyed playing guitar and golfing.
Jim was the beloved husband of Aggie. He was the loving father of Emily Deuchler and her husband David, Meredith Molloy and her husband Timothy. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Grady and Marley Molloy and Julia and Catherine Deuchler, his brother Jeffrey and his wife Marion, his sister Patricia Jurewicz and her husband Jerry, and sisters-in-law, Barbara and Carol as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Joseph and John.
