Fox Foundation for Parkinsons’ Research, Grand Central Station P.O. Box 4777 New York, NY 10163, or to the Wagner College Main Hall Restoration, 1 Campus Rd, Staten Island , NY 10301.

Born in Staten Island to the late James and Phyllis, Jim was the oldest of four children. He began his studies at Wagner College. After his first two years, he enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served his country. After his honorable discharge, he completed his BA at Wagner, his MBA also at Wagner and a Masters in Administration in Higher Education from NYU. In 1963, he met Judith Hvidsten. In 1967, the couple married, had two children, and lived in North Jersey and Chatham until 2000. Filling a retirement dream, the couple moved to Seabrook Island, SC and eventually back to New Jersey in 2005.

Jim started his career as an Admissions Officer at Wagner College and later became the Director of the student union. A career move brought him to various school districts in New Jersey as a business administrator. He was with the West Orange Board of Education for 17 years before retiring in 1997.

Jim will be remembered as a big guy with a big heart. He loved sports, especially softball, basketball, boating and fishing, and was an avid Giants and Yankees fan. He treasured his friendships, from college and work, from Chatham and Seabrook. All were important to him. Most of all, he was proud of his family, the children and grandchildren who brought so much joy during the last years.

Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife Judy of 44 years, his children Alison Gilfedder and her husband Shawn, and Jeffrey Krieger and his wife Kristen; his four grandchildren, Madeline and Hannah Gilfedder, and Jackson and Hudsen Krieger; his sisters Katherine Ferone. Patricia Cornell, and Eileen DiGiovanni, and many dear old friends and relatives.
