James M. Corbett, 95, of Summit, NJ passed peacefully on April 3, 2022. Born in Cleveland, Ohio. James has lived in Summit since 1972. He graduated from Western Reserve University. James served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. James was President of Associated Commercial Property Insurers in New York. After retirement, he was Vice-President at Roger Metzger Associates in New York for many years. James was a parishioner and usher at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit. He enjoyed skiing and playing golf. Longtime Chicago Bears fan.
He is pre-deceased by his wife, Earleen Elma Corbett, (nee McKnight), his daughter Christine Wittrien and her husband Harry, three sons, James Jr. and his wife Kimberly, David and Peter, grandfather of James Corbett III, Kellen Wittrien and Kelly Sutilla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 9:30 am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, Summit, NJ. Interment to follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery. To send the family a condolence, please visit, www.bradleyfuneralhomes.com
