James M. Flynn, 81, of Chatham, NJ, died peacefully at home on February 17, 2012. He died much the way he lived his life: on his own terms, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Summit, NJ, he lived in Chatham for 51 years.
James was an active member of the community in Chatham for many years, especially noted for founding and directing the Morris County Militia Fife and Drum Corp. Through his involvement in the community, he touched the lives of many.
James was predeceased by his wife Carol (Young) in 1989 and is survived by his children: Denise Flynn of Lafayette CO, Diane Flynn of West Orange, James Flynn and his wife Jane of Highland Village TX, Elaine Flynn and her husband Johan Helsingius Amsterdam, The Netherlands and John and his wife Laura of Chatham. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Connor, Molly, Brian, Danny and Megan.
