James Robert Birkner, 54, died at his home in New Providence, Saturday, July 14th, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Bayonne, James was raised in Roselle Park and moved to New Providence 26 years ago. A Certified Public Accountant with J.H. Cohn LPP in Roseland, NJ, James received a BA in accounting from Rutgers University, and his Masters in Taxation from Seton Hall University.
James will fondly be remembered as a loving husband and father with a wonderful sense of humor and a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hiking and boating.
James was the beloved husband of 32 years to Nancy Halpin-Birkner. He was the loving father of Derek Birkner and Shannon Birkner. He is also survived by his dear mother Elaine Chervenak Birkner, cherished
siblings Robert Birkner and Kathleen Weaver, parent in-laws John and Barbara Halpin as well as many cherished relatives and friends. James
was predeceased by his father Robert Birkner.
