James R. Dolan, 69, of Whippany passed away on December 16, 2019. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Ave., in Cedar Knolls on Monday, December 23 at 10am. Interment is private. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd., in Whippany on Sunday from 4 to 8pm.
Born on January 14, 1950, the son of John and Margaret (Beirne) Dolan, Jim was raised in West Orange. A graduate of West Orange High School where he was known as “Fuzzy Dolan,” Jim excelled in baseball and was a member of the West Orange High School Hall of Fame. Jim was a sales associate with The Olympic Shop in Upper Montclair until his retirement in 2012 and also worked part time at Joes American Bar and Grill in Short Hills.
Jim was the beloved husband of 31 years to Noreen. He was the dear brother of Jack Dolan (Judy) and Ann Romano (Jim), brother-in-law of Bonnie Langbein, John Dolan (Kathy) and the late Keith Dolan (Dianne), uncle of Adam Dolan, Craig Dolan (Jasmine), James Romano (Caitlin), Sean Romano, Timothy Langbein (Joy), Tracey Quinn (Brendan), Kelly Dolan ( fiancé Patrick Flatley), Brittany Dolan, Julia Dolan, John Ryan Dolan (Ashley), Jason Dolan, Jessica Black (James) and great uncle of Molly and Evan Quinn and Lillian Dolan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
