Janet G. Schumann, 80, of North Port, F.L. and Convent Station, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at home. Relatives and friends will be received at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham, N.J. (973.908.6004) on Saturday, Sept. 19, beginning at 11 a.m. with a memorial service commencing at 12 p.m.
Janet was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis (Frank) Schumann, a former North Plainfield police officer and Sheriff of Hunterdon County. She is survived by her loving children, Jill Schumann and husband Scott Mitchell of Glen Allen, V.A. and Amy Rose and husband Matthew of Convent Station, N.J.; four adored grandchildren, Jack and Casey Mitchell and Katherine and William Rose; and her faithful Bichon companion, Chloe.
Born in Elizabeth and raised in Plainfield, Jan also lived in North Plainfield and Raritan Township. She was a sales representative for Yale Materials Handling Corp. before retiring. An avid fan of warm weather and the seashore, Janet’s retirement included numerous summers on the Jersey Shore and winter months among great friends in North Port.
