Jean Ann Hefferon
Jean Ann (nee McTeigue), 81, formerly of Maplewood, NJ,
passed away on July 31, 2012 in Southern California after a brief illness.
All her children were at her bedside.
She was the loving wife of the late Vincent G. (Jerry) Hefferon, Sr.,
who worked as a police detective for the city of Newark, NJ.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Hamilton;
her children Daniel (Carol), Joseph, Vincent (Jerry), Jr., (Liz),
and Kathleen Lindeman (Dave), her seven
grand-children, Kaitlin, Allison, Matthew, Megan,
Dawson, Devlin and Jackson; and one great-grandchild,
Lucius. She worked as a court clerk at the Essex County
Court House for 25 years until her retirement, and then moved to
Canyon Lake, CA in December 1999.
Jean was a generous and faithful friend
and neighbor, and was loved by all who knew her.
She was always crocheting an afghan for someone or making counted
cross-stitch treasures for family and friends and was a
tremendously talented crafter. She was an avid reader
and book “gifter”. Her grandchildren were her pride and
joy, and she never stopped singing their praises. Her love for them
literally knew no bounds.
