Jeanne A Milia (nee Battschinger), of Springfield, passed away on April 29, 2020. She was 94.
Jeanne was one of six children born to George and Hazel Battschinger on November 25, 1925. She attended Westside High School in Newark NJ where shortly thereafter she met her lifelong love Angelo Milia at a local basketball game. They married and enjoyed almost 60 years of love together. Jeanne was a devout catholic and parishioner of St. James the Apostle Church in Springfield NJ where she raised her family after moving from Newark in 1980. Jeanne worked in private insurance and in the Office of Personnel Management in Newark NJ for the federal government for many years before retiring. In her retirement years, Jeanne lived for her family and enjoyed baking for her family, sewing, crocheting, word search puzzles and planting her garden. She was a kind patient woman who battled with Dementia for her last 12 years.
Jeanne is survived by her three children: George, Valerie, and Patti and their spouses. Jeanne was the loving grandmother to four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. May she rest in eternal peace with Angelo in the arms of our Lord.
