Jo-Anne Louise Laible
Jo-Anne Louise Laible, 83, of South Yarmouth, MA and formerly of Chatham, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday Jan. 18, 2017 at her home.
Jo-Anne was born on March 29, 1933 in Flushing, NY. She was the youngest of four children of George and Margaret (Baranyay) Hedges. She graduated from Flushing High School in 1951. Her first job was at Beneficial in NYC where she met her beloved husband Robert G. Laible of 44 years. They lived in Madison, NJ where they raised their family.
She worked as a legal secretary and volunteered her time where she was a parishioner at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and at the Independent Thrift Shop in Madison. She was a longtime member of the Noe Pond Club in Chatham Township. Her interests included traveling, playing bridge, knitting, reading and going to garage sales. She adored her 5 grandchildren who called her Nana.
Jo-Anne was predeceased by her husband and her sisters Margie Aust and Gladys Rice. She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Laible of Wayne, PA; a daughter, Gail Hughes (Jack) of Hebron, CT and grandchildren, Natalie & Robby Laible of Wayne, PA and Sean, Darci & Daniel Hughes of Hebron, CT. She is also survived by her brother George Hedges of Palm Springs, CA.
Calling hours will be held at Wm. A. Bradley Funeral home, 345 Main St, Chatham, NJ on Tuesday Jan 24 from 4-8pm. A Funeral service will be held on Wed Jan 25 at 10am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 300 Shunpike Rd, Chatham Twp., NJ 07928. Donations can be made in Jo-Anne’s memory to the memorial fund at Gloria Dei.
