Joan A. Ott (nee Pollard), 88, passed away on September 26, 2024 after a long illness. Born in Elizabeth, NJ to James and Helen (O’Connor) Pollard, Joan remained a lifelong New Jersey resident living in East Orange, Springfield, Chatham and Little Silver before moving to New Providence in 2018. Joan was a graduate of Saint Vincent’s Academy and Berkeley Business School. She received her bachelor’s degree at Caldwell College before continuing graduate studies at Seton Hall University.
Joan taught in the Cranford School System and was a member of the NJ Education Association. After retiring from teaching, she became an Administrative Assistant to the President of St. Mary’s Hospital in Orange, NJ.
She is survived and loved by her stepson, Kenneth Ott, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six cousins, a niece and seven nephews. Joan is predeceased by her husband, Richard Ott (2017), her brother, Rev. Msgr. Raymond J. Pollard (2010) and her first husband, Edward Jennings (1970).
