Joan B. Hoffmann, 87, of Summit, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.

Joan was born on April 16, 1929 in East Orange, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Thelma (nee Burnap) Hilsinger.

Joan was a 1951 graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s of Science. She worked as a medical technologist for several years. She volunteered for SAGE delivering Meals on Wheels for 40 years and was honored by United Way for her dedicated service. Joan was a member of the Golden Age Club, Summit, NJ, the Bridge Club, New Providence, NJ, and a member of AARP. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge, going to plays, her beloved cats, and spending time with her cherished family and friends.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, William F. Hoffmann in 1988. She was the loving mother of son, William Hoffmann and wife Elaine and daughter, Christine Zunin. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Kenneth Zunin, Ryan Hoffmann, and Lindsey Hoffmann.

Friends are invited to visit at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd in Whippany on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany, 494 NJ-10, Whippany, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s name to the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany (Deacons Fund) or Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
