Loving Wife, Mother & Grandmother
Joan Kearns Malone, 77, of Florham Park, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Joan was born on September 3, 1939 in Newark, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William M. and Doris M. (nee Hodgkinson) Kearns.
She was a graduate of Columbia High School, Maplewood, NJ, where she was on the reunion committee for the Class of 1957. Joan also attended University of Maine, Orono, ME.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of The Suburbanites, Florham Park, NJ. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church, Florham Park, NJ.
Joan is survived by her husband of 49 years, Charles J. Malone. She was the loving mother of Charles J. Malone, Jr. and wife Kelly, James P. Malone and wife Megan, and Megan M. Broadhurst and husband Kenneth. She was the cherished grandmother of Shannon, Connor, Tara, Julie and Ryan Malone and Casey Broadhurst. In addition, she is survived by her brother, William M. Kearns, II and wife Anne and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Holy Family Church, 1 Lloyd Ave, Florham Park, NJ 07932. An interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown, NJ. In Joan’s memory, donations can be directed to the Florham Park Memorial First Aid Squad or The Seeing Eye, Inc.
