John Mirynowski, 87, of Union, passed away on May 10, 2013 at home. Born and raised in Mahanoy City, PA, John has lived in Union for 55 years. He was a Marine Engineer with the American Bureau of Shipping in New York City. A veteran of the US Merchant Marines, John served during WWII. He was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 4504, a member of the Mahanoy City Elk’s Club, and the Society of Marine Port Engineers.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret (nee: Papinchak); son Robert and his wife Karen: daughter Marie Singer and her husband David, and grandchildren Lauren and Megan Mirynowski and Matthew and Jaime Singer. John was predeceased by his brother Edward and sister Helen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 15,b 2013 at 10:15am at St Michael’s Church, 1212 Kelly St., Union. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Union.
