John R. Kurilko

John Kurilko, 70, of Whippany died suddenly on Friday, October 28th at Morristown Memorial Hospital.


Born in PA, John has lived in Whippany for over 43 years. He was employed with Bell Laboratories & AT&T, before retiring from Lucent in 1995. He learned to play golf while on an assignment for Bell Labs on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands and continued his love for the game. He was an avid golfer and woodworker, and enjoyed bowling and tending to his vegetable gardens. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them, especially his nine grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Rae of 47 years, his loving children Michele Simon and her husband Jay, John and his wife Rebecca, and Kim Dillon and her husband Jeff; his grandchildren Jake and Kayla Simon, Michael, Nicholas, John Tyler, and Daniel Kurilko, and Sarah, Bryan and Kelly Dillon; his sister Darlene Kumor; Aunt Helen Greene; Daisy & Bear, his loyal canine companions; and many caring friends.
