John W. Frain

John W. Frain, 95, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Union, NJ, passed peacefully on December 30, 2015. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, John lived in Union for 33 years before moving to Sarasota. He worked for Westinghouse Electric Company for many years. John served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the 1st Marine Division in the Battle of Guadalcanal. He loved the New York Yankees and Joe D. John is pre-deceased by his wife Eleanor M. Frain (nee Mulligan) and his daughter Jeanne Frain. He is survived by his three children, Lynda Clougher, John W. Jr., and Joe, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jennifer Clougher Pinder, Keith Clougher, D.J. and Eric Frain, Jordan and Joey Pinder, and Brielle and Melody Frain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 10:15 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Union. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours, Tuesday, 3 to 7 pm at the Bradley Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union.
