John Warren De Witt, Jr., 85, of Florham Park, New Jersey passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at his home.
John was born on January 9, 1930 in Port Chester, New York. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. and Mildred C. (Goodnow) De Witt. He was raised in Kingston, NY.
John served in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry at Tufts University. He later studied at the University of Minnesota where he met his beloved wife.
John worked as an advertising executive and worked for many companies before beginning his own business as a cosmetics formulator. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a great outlook on life. He was an avid reader and loved rooting for the New York Giants. Of all things, he loved his children and his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eileen Marie De Witt. He is survived by his children; John W. De Witt, III, Mary Elizabeth De Witt, Gregory Matthew De Witt, and Margaret Mary De Witt. He was the cherished grandfather of Matthew De Witt Holland, Sarah Elizabeth Holland, Abigail De Witt Rini, Ella De Witt Rini, and Ethan De Witt Rini. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Goodnow De Witt and sister, Carolyn Kerr De Witt Koening.
