Joseph Llewellynn C. Dorneo, 57, of Springfield, New Jersey passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Joe was born on June 20, 1964 in Mauban, Quezon, Philippines. He was the son of Mr. Abelardo and Mrs. Araceli (nee Camaligan) Dorneo. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s Preparatory School, Jersey City, New Jersey and Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He worked as a Project Manager in Information Technology for Jersey Medical Center, Princeton Medical Center, NY Presbyterian Hospital and Mt. Sinai Medical Center. Currently he worked as an Information Technology Systems Application Analyst for St. Joseph’s Hospital, Wayne, NJ.

Joe was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Church, Springfield, NJ. He was a sports enthusiast who devoted himself to his children’s sports on the pool deck and on the baseball field. He volunteered at St. Peter Preparatory School’s baseball team.

He was a dedicated husband, father, and son who went above and beyond for his family. Life of the party, loved to make people laugh, and was generous, selfless and thoughtful.

Joe is survived by his wife, Dr. Aurora Dorneo, his children, Allison and Ryan Joseph Dorneo, and his parents, Abelardo and Araceli Dorneo, as well as many extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, September 17, 2021 at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to St. Peter’s Preparatory School, 144 Grand St, Jersey City, NJ 07302, or made online
