~~Joseph L. Fruscione, 86, of Short Hills and formerly Staten Island passed away on December 13, 2017. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave, in Short Hills on Thursday, December 21st at 11:15am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave in Springfield on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Born and raised in Palermo, Italy, the son of Giuseppe and Maria Fruscione, Joe came to the United States in 1947. First settling in New York City, he also lived on Staten Island for many years before moving to Short Hills in 2000. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A barber by trade, Joe worked for many years in New York City, including the Empire State Building. He also worked at Michael’s Barber Shop in Millburn. An active member of the Knights of Columbus, Joe enjoyed gardening and reading. He will be fondly remembered for his love of family, especially time spent with his grandchildren.

Joe was the beloved husband of 54 years to the late Rose Fruscione. He was the loving father of Marie Sanna (Robert) and Joseph Fruscione (Melanie). He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Lauren Baratta (Jay), Alexandra Fruscione, Robert Sanna, Libby Sanna, and Peter Sanna, great granddaughter Rayna Baratta and sister, Paula Taranto.
