Joseph R. McLaughlin, 32 of Jersey City, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Joseph grew up in Chatham, NJ, was a 2007 graduate of Delbarton School, Morristown, NJ, and a 2011 graduate of Villanova University, Lower Merion Twp, PA, where he was an avid Villanova basketball fan. Joe started his career the day after graduation for AXA, which later became Equitable, in Jersey City. At the time of his death, he was NE Divisional Sales Desk Manager. Joe loved his family and friends above all else. But his true second love was music. He loved playing his guitar and going to concerts, and had recently even started taking guitar lessons via Zoom from a UC Berkley graduate student.
Joe is survived by his parents, Daniel and Lynn McLaughlin, maternal grandmother, Marilyn Musell, his siblings, Kathryn, Timothy and wife Tingi, and Jeffrey and fiancé Alexandria, and was the cherished Uncle of Kenzie and Devon McLaughlin. Joe also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, and so many, many friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 1-4pm and 6-9pm at William A. Bradley and Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd. Chatham, NJ 07928. Cremation will be private.
