Josephine Monaco, 73, of Summit, New Jersey passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Josephine was born on October 21, 1946 in Newark, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Ida (nee Gaglione) Carlucci.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved taking care of her family. Josephine was an avid cook and baker.
Josephine is survived by her husband of 41 years, Frank A. “Tony” Monaco. She was the beloved mother of Christina Lubas and husband Stephen, Nicholas Monaco and wife Colleen and cherished grandmother of Nina and Devon. In addition, She is survived by her mother, Ida Carlucci and siblings; Roseanne, Diane, Louise, Alfonse, and Mario. Josephine was also predeceased by her siblings Patricia and Lucille.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:45 am on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901. An entombment will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ.
