Josephine (nee D’Angelo) Rizzo of Chatham, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday December 21, 2021, at the age of 97. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 12, 1924, to Michael and Frances (nee Guzzardi) D’Angelo. Josephine grew up in The Bronx prior to marrying and settling in Hicksville, Long Island in 1953. She subsequently moved to and resided in Chatham over the past 30 years.
She was a member of the Senior Center of the Chathams and co-chair of the trip committee. She has enjoyed both domestic and international travel. She loved dancing and was an avid sewer and seamstress. Josephine was often described as the sweetest and most delightful person you would ever meet. She also possessed a brilliant and inquisitive mind.
Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore “Bunny” Rizzo. After his death she was the companion of the late Peter Pagano; devoted mother of Ken Rizzo & his wife Laura Acosta; loving grandmother of their daughter Elena Rizzo; devoted mother of Jeff Rizzo & his fiancé Wendi Subers; dear aunt of Theresa Sperduto & Anthony D’Angelo; and cousin of Paul Muscolino.
