Joyce Elizabeth Copeland (nee Christy), 65, of Union, NJ, passed away at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains on March 29, 2022. Visiting hours at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. in Union will be on Friday, April 1st from 4 to 8pm. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home on Saturday, April 2nd at 10am followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in N. Arlington.
Born in Newark and raised in Irvington, the daughter of James and Ann Marie (Bohen) Christy, Joyce graduated from Irvington High School in 1974. She had also lived in Millburn and Jacksonville, FL before moving to Union in 2014. Joyce held various positions in the health care industry including Irvington General Hospital and Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed reading and the simple pleasures in life but her main focus was always her family.
Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Narvell Copeland. She was the loving mother of Michael Christy. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Mariah, Mikaela and Maliya, dear sister Elizabeth Christy, dear brother Thomas Christy, and nieces Ann Marie Christy and Kelly Montecinos, great nieces and nephews, Juan, Brandon, Kaylee, Addison, Savannah and Scarlett.
She was predeceased by her sister Carol Hahn and brother James Christy.
