Julia Claire Prasad, a student and resident of New Providence, NJ, passed away on July 27, 2020 at the age of 17.

Julia was born in Lake Success, NY on June 28, 2003. She was a rising senior at New Providence High School, where she was a proud member of the weapon line in the Marching Band’s Color Guard. Last year, she performed with her high school at Disney’s Magic Kingdom parade.

She enjoyed spending time vacationing in Cape May, NJ with loving memories of going to the beach, dolphin watching, and relishing new flavors at the local ice cream shops. Julia was a great lover of people and found joy in spending time with her friends. She was socially conscious and shared her opinions on topics such as women’s rights issues, LGBTQ rights and racial injustice. Julia had a bright future and will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who had the good fortune of knowing her.

Julia is survived by her parents, Anurag and Rhonda, her sister Jenna, grandparents Tom and Janet Jensen, grandmother Vinod Prasad, Uncle Thomas Jensen, Aunt and Uncle Rachna Prasad-Torres and Alex Torres, and her cousins Shivani and Nicholas Torres.
