Julia Dombrowski

Before sunrise on March 14, 2020, Julia T. Dombrowski passed peacefully from this earth in Venice, Florida. Julia was born in Millburn, New Jersey on October 11, 1917 to the late Margaret and Alexander Zembko. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Zembko who died at age 3, her sisters Helen Jurasinski, Frances Insinger and Mary DeManche. She is survived by a sister , Barbara Falzarano of Basking Ridge New Jersey.

Julia graduated from Summit High School in 1935. She was hired to be a bookkeeper for a plumbing supply company. She stayed with that company until she had her first child and became a full time mother. She worked in the office of St Patrick’s School until her first employer came back with an offer she couldn’t refuse. She worked as an office manager there until her retirement. She married Joseph Dombrowski on October 13, 1946 and they lived in Chatham, New Jersey and were happily married for 39 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1985. She is survived by her two daughters Joan Smolyn and her husband Donald of Randolph, New Jersey and Jean Sloboda and her husband Robert of Englewood, Florida. In addition, she is survived by her two beloved grandchildren, Alexis Buckley and her husband, Peter, of East Norriton, Pennsylvania and Christopher Smolyn and his wife Meredith of Oradell, New Jersey. She also has four beautiful great grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth and Kaitlyn Grace Buckley and Henry John and Frederick Julian Smolyn named in her honor. Julia will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother (GG), sister and friend who shared her love and joy to all who were blessed enough to have her in their lives, Julia really did have a wonderful life!
