~~Kasmir “Red” Sujkowski, 100, of Union passed away on April 6, 2016. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel, 1212 Kelly St in Union on Monday, April 11th at 10:15am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave in Springfield on Sunday from 3 to 7pm. Born and raised in Newark, Red had resided in Union since 1960. A welder by trade, he worked at Schacht Steel Company in Hillside until his retirement in 1975. Red was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hillside and was a longtime parishioner at St. Michaels. He enjoyed sports, especially the Boston Red Sox.

Red was the beloved husband of 45 years to the late Henrietta. He was the loving father of Richard and his wife Pat. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Andrea Siering and her husband Justin, and Kristen Swiecicki and her husband Adam, great grandchildren Ella and Avery Swiecicki, and sisters, Anna Pellechia and Mary Largey.
