Kay Francis Fountain of Vernon, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Flora, Illinois to the late Thomas and Grace (Haynes) Thompson on August 5, 1938, Kay lived most of her life in Vernon, NJ.
Kay was the head of Accounts Receivable for Mountain Creek for many years until her retirement. Known as Grandma to everyone, she will be remembered most for her generosity and quick wit. Never more than a phone call away, Kay most recently used her sewing skills to provide hundreds of masks for healthcare workers during the pandemic. Kay’s ever-lasting legacy will be her love and devotion to her family and lifelong friends.
Kay was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, James, in 1995. Surviving are her two children, Cynthia Auberger of Wantage and James Fountain of Pittsburg, two grandaughters Stacy (Andres) Blanco and Kristin (Justin) Saporito as well as her beloved great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Marvin (Rosemary) Thompson and a sister Mary McPeak, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
