Kenneth W. McCourt, 81, of New Providence, New Jersey (formerly of Madison, New Jersey) passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.
Ken was born on December 19, 1939 in Norwich, Ohio. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Margaret (nee Aitken) McCourt. Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alexa McCourt and was the beloved father of daughter Marla Cussen (Donald). In addition, he is survived by his sisters; Jody TenHuisen (Keith) and Janet Smith (Jerry) and uncle of nine nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two nieces.
He graduated from Grove City College, Grove City, PA in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science. He started his career with Allied Chemical where he held both manufacturing and marketing positions. Ken joined Buffalo Color Corporation in 1977 where he held several key management positions before being appointed President, Chief Executive Officer. He served his country in the United States Army.
Ken was an active member of The Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township. He served the church as a member of Session, as a Deacon, and led the Personnel Committee for several years.
Some of Ken’s most cherished moments were those he got to spend with his family and friends. He loved gardening, golfing, fishing, and playing bridge. Enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday April 29, 2021 at The Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township. Due to COVID restrictions the Memorial Service will be private. Donations in his memory can be made in his name to uso.org/donate/donate-in-honor.
