Kent DuBois Werry
09/26/1938 - 11/08/2021

Kent DuBois Werry of Whippany, passed away on November 8, 2021 after a long illness.  He was 83.  Raised in Cedar Grove, NJ, he attended Bloomfield High School, Seton Hall University, and The New School for Social Research.  Toward the end of his career, Kent worked as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional for BASF and NJ Manufacturers Insurance Co., and was President of the (ISC)2 NY Metro Chapter.

In retirement, he supported Literacy Volunteers of Morris County by working with immigrants to strengthen their English skills. He also volunteered at the Morris County Interfaith Food Pantry where he assisted customers picking up groceries. His favorite activity, however, was checking out and reading books from the Whippanong and Morris County public libraries, and their circulation numbers will undoubtedly drop in his absence.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, their children Jennifer Werry Stewart and husband Mike of Bel Air, MD, Jill Werry of San Diego, CA, and Allison Werry and husband Steve Bury of Kinnelon, NJ. Also grandchildren Brittany, Tenley, and Liam Stewart, and Griffin and Cole Bury. He is also survived by his brother Wade Werry and his wife Joan, of The Villages, FL.
