Laurie passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on September 26th 2024.Born on February 6th 1958 she was 66 years old. Laurie grew up in Springfield N.J.and enjoyed life to the fullest. She graduated Jonathan Dayton Regional High School and decided to further her education by going to Kean College and then Barrington College in Rhode Island. Her Major Course of study was Physical Education and later she became a Substitute Teacher in the Phys Ed Field. Laurie also worked at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick N.J.for over 30 years. She loved her Job and loved her fellow co-workers as well.
Laurie loved spending time with her husband, her family, and her cats. She enjoyed walks in the park, fishing, and going to concerts with friends.
Laura is predeceased by her Parents Jack and Nancy Powell. Laura leaves behind her Husband of 30 years Edward Kamont, her Brother Rees John Powell and his Wife Connie, Nieces Niki Collins, Jessie Powell, Kristy Christopher, and Nephews Edward Czech Jr. and Ryan Collins
A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 11 am at Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. Springfield, NJ. Visiting hours, Tuesday, 3 pm to 7 pm.
