Laurie Finn

Laurie Finn passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.

Born on March 31, 1948 in Seattle, Washington, Laurie was the younger of two daughters of Leslie and Dorothy Larson.

Laurie grew up in Seattle, Washington and graduated from St. Nicholas School for Girls and attended Seattle University. Following her studies at Seattle University, Laurie moved to New York to pursue a career in financial services. While working in New York, Laurie met the love of her life, Paul Finn. Laurie and Paul married in November of 1983 and spent over thirty years together until Paul’s death in May of 2014.

After many years in financial services, Laurie decided to pursue her passion for interior design. Laurie founded La Jolie Maison, a design and interior decorating company. For Laurie, there was little distinction between client and friend. If you became Laurie’s client, it is likely you became her lifelong friend.

Laurie was commited to her charitable work with the Paul Finn Jr. Foundation and the Valerie Fund, the latter of which honored her at their Thanksgiving Gala in 2010.

Laurie is survived by her loving family, including her sister Lynn Kenyon, nieces, nephews, and many grandchildren. She is also survived by many dear friends, most of whom she considered family.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday February 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Short Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Valerie Fund or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
