Lena M. Lentine, 84, of Whippany passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on July 10th. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany Rd, Whippany on Saturday, July 13th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd, Whippany on Friday from 4-8pm.
Born in Newark, Lena had also lived in East Orange and Elizabeth before moving to Whippany in 1956. A Homemaker, she had worked in her early years as a clerk for American Insurance Company in Newark. Lena was a long time, active parishioner with Our Lady of Mercy including her many years on the Caring and Sharing Committee and the Rosary Society. She was a member of the Hanover Township Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed travel and spending time with her family.
Lena was the beloved wife of 62 years to Anthony. She was the loving mother of James and his wife Christine, Thomas and his wife Maureen and Joseph and his wife Karen. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Peter, Lauren, Michael, Ryan, Carolyn, Thomas, Joseph, Chelsea and Lisa, dear sister Theresa DiMaggio as well as many loving relatives. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lena’s memory may be made to the Hospice Fund at Atlantic Homecare & Hospice, 465 South St., Morristown, NJ 07960.
