It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Linda A. Colandrea, who was born on February 21, 1967 in Kingston P.A., on May 24, 2024 at her home in Normandy Beach, N.J. with her husband by her side. Linda was only 57 years old. Affectionally known as “Tee,” she was a devoted mother and wife.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Douglas Richard, her beloved sons Douglas Michael and Kevin James, along with their dog Crosby (named after the singer). She is also survived by her two brothers Jim Hoyson and his wife Eileen, and Anthony Hoyson and his wife Barbara as well as her brother-in-law Richard Colandrea and his wife Bonnie. Nieces and nephews include Angie and Christopher Hoyson, and CJ and Heather Colandrea. She is also predeceased by her mother Ann Hoyson and father Ronald Hoyson.
Doug and Linda met at Wilkes University in P.A. when Linda was a sophomore. They dated for several years before getting married on March 20, 1993 after finishing her Masters in Clinical Psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, N.J. Doug and Linda settled down in Springfield, N.J., where Doug grew up as a child, before moving to Summit, N.J. in 2002, where they started a family and lived for over 20 years before moving permanently to Normandy Beach, N.J., where they spent many summers over the past 20 years. Linda loved the off-season at Normandy with the beauty and peacefulness that surrounded her.
Linda loved listening to 1960s and 1970s music and was an excellent dancer with an uncanny knack for picking up the beat in any song. It was a real joy to watch her dance. She enjoyed walking and exercising when she was younger and loved cooking for her kids spending many hours planning and preparing her meals and creating all kinds of new dishes. She would cook for days ahead of her boys coming home from college. She absolutely loved being a mother to her kids, spending time in the kitchen, and playing with her dogs. She always has a positive outlook on everything in life which is derived from, and anchored in, her strong religious beliefs and deep faith. She will be greatly missed by those that knew her for her calming presence, beautiful smile, and uncanny ability to just listen.
