Linda Markey Loving mother, inspiring athlete If the world seemed just a little less exuberant this morning, it’s probably because Linda passed away after a courageous six-month battle with cancer at the age of 54. Her zest for life will be remembered with a public viewing on Thursday from 7-9pm, and Friday from 4-8pm at the Wm A Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:30am at Holy Family Church 35 Orchard Rd., Florham Park. Cremation will be private. After working her way through Fairleigh Dickenson she worked as an accountant. While working for a real estate developer in Cranbury, NJ she met her future husband, Bill Markey, and they ran, biked, swam and traveled into marriage, settling in Florham Park. Linda’s three children, Miles (18), Faith (16) and Chloe (15) were her ultimate inspiration and she lit the fire of athleticism and achievement in each of them. Linda is also survived by her parents, Lynne Kwatkoski (nee Reynolds) and John Kwatkoski, brothers John and Tom and sister Marysusan as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, tennis partners, running partners, fellow swim officials and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at www.cycleforsurvival.org in the name of Team Linda Markey. Cycle For Survival is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for rare cancers.
