Louis E. Howarth, 88, of Morristown and formerly of New Providence, New Jersey passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 23, 1933 in Newark, New Jersey and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis and Elizabeth (nee Kernusz) Howarth.
Louis served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in mechanical engineering. He also obtained his Professional Engineering License and worked as a forensic engineer.
Louis worked at Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ for over 20 years and later retired and opened his own business, Howarth Engineering Company which specialized in accident reconstruction.
Avid hunter and fisherman. He was a duck lover, enjoyed woodworking and candle making. He was infamous for keeping busy.
He was predeceased by his wife, Leona Howarth and survived by his daughter, Audra and Steven Kessler.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. An inurnment will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Millburn, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
