Lowell E. Hardy, 80, of Springfield, New Jersey passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.
Lowell was born on November 30, 1935 in Summit, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. and Marcella E. (nee Halloran) Hardy.
Lowell was a graduate of Jonathan Dayton High School. After graduation he served in the United States Army. He was a police officer for the town of Springfield for over 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed shooting with his grandson and collecting coins. Lowell was very handy and was often known as “Mr. Fix-it”. He enjoyed tending to his garden especially his petunias and visiting casino’s with his late wife, Linda.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda Hardy in 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Alissa Koref and her husband Craig and son, Richard Hardy. He was the grandfather of Dylan and Ryan Hardy and Brianna and Tyler Koref. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. Words of remembrance will begin at 8:00p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lowell’s memory may be made to the Springfield PBA Local #76, P.O. Box 281, Springfield, NJ 07081.
