~~Lucy F. Pojedinec, 97, lifelong resident of Whippany, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Arden Courts of Whippany Assisted Living. Lucy was a microfilm manger with Bell Labs in Whippany for many years, until her retirement in 1982. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband Joseph, to whom she was married to for 65 years until his death; her daughter Joanne Lyon; and sisters Helen Kasiski, Joanna Foran, and Antoinette Leana. She was the beloved mother of Ronald and his wife Shirley, and Bill. She was the grandmother of Cindy Carter, Susan Bannio, John Lyon, Kevin Lyon, Daniel Pojedinec, Sharon Pojedinec, Andrew Pojedinec and Alex Pojedinec; and 15 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may gather at the Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd., Whippany on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 9:45am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11am at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany Rd, in Whippany. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Whippany. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lucy may be made to the Whippany Fire Company or the Alzheimer’s Association.
