Madeleine Mae Rampolla
09/27/1930 - 08/23/2024

Madeleine Mae Rampolla (nee DePuy), longtime Maplewood resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 23. Madeleine was the beloved daughter of Virginia Calhoun (DePuy) and Paul DePuy. Madeleine met and married her husband of 69 years, Richard “Dick” Rampolla (deceased 2020) in Bayonne where they began married life before moving to Maplewood in 1962 to raise their family.

Madeleine enjoyed vacationing with family on Cape Cod or at the Jersey Shore, making Christmas special for family and friends, performing with Maplewood Music Theater and cooking delicious dinners.

Madeleine retired after 20 plus rewarding years in the Maplewood-South Orange Schools. Her love of books led to a position as Library Assistant at MMS before her love of children led to serving as administrative assistant in the guidance department.

Madeleine is survived by her loving family: daughter Virginia Hicks & husband Stephen; son Richard Rampolla Jr. & wife Danusia; daughter Lisa Weber & husband Marty; her grandchildren: Mathew & Gloriarose Konopinski, Emily Konopinski & Peter Trunk, Madelaine Hicks & Sam Roche; Melanie Rychok & Garrett Hincken, Tamara Rychok; Jessica Beals & Rob Beals, Elizabeth James & Rob James; and her great-grandchildren: Julia, Gabrielle, & Anna Beals; Lucille, Matilda & Eleanor Konopinski; & August Trunk.
