Malcolm Lauder Macpherson, 83, died August 11, 2020 after a long battle with dementia. He was born to Dr. Elwood and Rose Macpherson of Millburn where he grew up.  Malcolm graduated from Colgate University after which he entered the finance world.  He started at E. F. Hutton, then worked at Merrill Lynch for many years, and subsequently joined Morgan Stanley.  He retired in 2018.    He was on the board of Bonnie Brae Boys home where he initiated and ran their golf fundraiser.  He retired from there with honors after 20 years of service. Known for his quick wit and humor, he entertained many – especially at the Far Hills Hunt where he concocted his famous bloody Mary’s while wearing his full Scottish kilt ensemble.   Malcolm and his wife Ruth Nelson, who met while attending Millburn High School were married for 56 years and lived in Short Hills for more than 40 of them. He spent his last years in Chatham and at their home in Danby, Vermont which they enjoyed for 25 years.  Malcolm was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.  He leaves his wife Ruth, his son Malcolm junior (Macky), his daughter-in-law Betsy, his daughter Jeannette (Jeannie) Macpherson Popov, his son-in-law Stanislav Popov and 6 grandchildren, Max, Jamie, Cooper and Katie Macpherson and Lillian and Georgia Popov.    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bonnie-Brae.org on line or Bonnie Brae, P.
