~~Margaret Hornecker, 93, of Short Hills passed away at Spring Meadow LTC in Summit on December 25, 2015. Visiting hours will be held at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave in Springfield on Tuesday, December 29th from 3 to 7:00pm. A graveside service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Springfield Cemetery, 1 Taft Lane, Springfield on Thursday, December 31st at noon. Born in Newark, the daughter of Aloysius and Mary Berberich, Margaret was a lifelong resident of Short Hills and graduated from Millburn High School. She served her country as a sergeant in the U.S. Marines during WWII. Margaret worked in administration for the City of Summit for many years. She enjoyed travelling but was most fond of spending time with her grandchildren.
Margaret was the beloved wife of 57 years to H. Norman. She was the loving mother of James and his wife Susan and Bruce and his wife Elizabeth. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Kelly, Michael, Jeffry, Jessica and Alexander and her goddaughter Barbara Reed.
