Maria F. Amador, 88, of Fanwood, NJ passed away on August 23, 2023. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 403 Spring St., Elizabeth, NJ on Tuesday, August 29th at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia,
Born in Ovar, Aveiro, Portugal, the daughter of Francisco and Maria (Fidalgo) Farraia, Maria came to the United States in 1978. First settling in New Rochelle, NY, she had also lived in Elizabeth, NJ for many years before moving to Fanwood in 2012. Maria worked as a seamstress sewing machine operator for many years. She will be fondly remembered as a sweet, kind, and loving person who always put others before herself.
Maria was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Amador. She was the loving mother of Filipe Amador (Stacy), Luis Amador (Ana), and Maria Campos (David). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Luis G. Amador (Nancy), Adrian Amador (Mashal Ahmed Amador), Andre Campos (Claire), Gabriel Campos, and Emma Amador, her great grandchildren, Owen, Madeline, Sterling, Faye, and Athier and her dear sister, Laura Barreto as well as many loving relatives and friends.
