~~ Maria I. Pacifico, 91 of Millburn, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Born and raised in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy, Maria immigrated to Montreal, Canada, in 1952, where she lived until moving to the United States in 1959. Maria has lived in Millburn over 50 years.
Maria retired from a long career with Electronics Industries, in New Providence. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, and a member of the Rosary Society there. Maria enjoyed knitting, and gardening. She was known for her tomato garden, and for growing and sharing her Oleander plants.
Predeceased by her husband Ernesto, and sister, Filomena Palumbo; Maria is survived by her children Rita Hovanec, Bartolomeo Pacifico, and Matthew Pacifico; grandchildren Christopher, Kyle and Katelyn Hovanec, David, Dan, Michael and Stephen Pacifico, and 8 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10am at St Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. There will be a visitation on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield.
